The party is seated in Tivat, and is actively participating as well in two Municipal Boards in  Kotor and Bar.

One of the vital aims set out in HGI’s agenda since 2002 is Montenegrin independence. HGI actively participated and contributed that Montenegro becomes an independent and sovereign state, and that aim was attained in the referendum held on 21 May 2006.

Since its establishment,  HGI succeeded to impose itself as a relevant factor and partner at the municipal level, against all problems a political party is faced with, and to attain significant results by its recognizability and principled nature.

The results attained by HGI in the executive and legislative government are as follows:

Three members of Municipal Assembly of Tivat,

  –  One member of Municipal Assembly of Kotor,

  –  Vice-president of the Municipality of Tivat,

  –  Vice-president of the Municipality of Kotor,

  –  One representative in the Parliament of Montenegro, the second mandate,

  –  Deputy Minister for Human and Minority Rights,

  –  Member of the Management Board of the Republic Centre for Minority Culture, and soon one employee working at the Centre.

In its work HGI supports and assists in carrying out activities of Croatian cultural associations, wishing to promote affirmation and preserving the identity, and integration into Montenegrin society as much as possible.

HGI has put forward an idea about necessity to establish the Croatian National Council in Montenegro, the idea was realized, and the Croatian National Council was established at the session of the Electoral Assembly held in Tivat in 2007.

Taking into account its national community, and preservation of cultural values and national identity in Montenegro, Croatian radio station: “Radio Dux” broadcasts its programmes for Montenegro, and the monthly “Hrvatski Glasnik” (Croatian Herald) is printed in Kotor.
